GEARS

Kinetic wood art. There are no stains or dyes used in this piece. The colors you see are the actual colors of each piece of wood with only a clear finish. It is powered by one AAA battery. There are solar cells in the frame which will power it when outside or in a brightly lit room.

WILDFLOWERS

This stylized piece with its multitude of color and physical depth is inspired by the complexities and chaos of colors in nature. The backboard is made of a recycled commercial counter-top. The stems are recycled redwood. The flowers are made from small pieces of just about every type of wood in my shop.

This Art Deco music box is made from apricot burl and wrapped in black walnut. It has a 72 note Sankyo Orpheus movement that plays the Brandenburg Concerto.

“Birdseye Maple & Black Walnut“

This box is made of beveled glass set in birdseye maple trimmed with black walnut. It stands 5 inches tall and is 10 inches by 6 inches. The movement is a 72 note Sankyo Orpheus. It plays portions of Tchaikovsky’s March of the Toy Soldiers, Waltz of the Flowers and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

MIGRATION

This backboard is constructed from birch set in a frame of wenge. The clouds are birdseye maple and the sun is made of canary wood. The birds are a mix of exotic and domestic hardwoods. The birds are set on brass pin so they float over the piece to give the sense of flight This piece is approx. 1 1/2 inches high by 31 1/2 inches wide and has hangers on the back.
