These art pieces are an expose’ of wood used in art. They are all original designs which incorporate numerous woods, both exotic and domestic. None of these pieces have any stains, dyes or colorants used in them. All of the colors are natural to the particular species of wood used and are finished only with a clear coat finish. In some cases, as is with “Wildflowers”, there is the use of recycled materials. The backboard is a recycled commercial counter top made of paper and phenolic resin inlaid with natural wood.
This backboard is constructed from birch set in a frame of wenge. The clouds are birdseye maple and the sun is made of canary wood. The birds are a mix of exotic and domestic hardwoods. The birds are set on brass pin so they float over the piece to give the sense of flight This piece is approx. 1 1/2 inches high by 31 1/2 inches wide and has hangers on the back.
